Yang Jin-seo (19) won the 11th stop on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) 2023 Solar Jump Tour (total prize money: 30 million won) in a playoff.

Yang shot an 8-under-par 64 in the second round of the tournament at Solar Country Club (Par 72) in Taean, Chungcheongnam-do (South Korea) on Feb. 2 for a final total of 12-under-par 132, tied with Lee Chae-yoon (19), and then birdied the 18th in the second playoff to win the title.

In the first playoff on the 18th hole (par-5),메이저놀이터 both players made par, and in the second playoff on the same hole, Yang birdied her third shot to within 0.5 meters of the hole to win over Lee, who made par.

The Jump Tour, which is open to associate members and professional aspirants, offers full membership based on performance in each of the four tournaments.

Yang’s fourth-place finish in the ninth tournament, her runner-up finish in the 10th tournament, and her victory in this tournament put her on track for full membership.

“I was under a lot of pressure to win even though I played well in the first and second tournaments,” Yang said. “My goal is to be promoted to a full member through the third tournament, and then go to the Dream Tour as the No. 1 on the money list, gain experience, and make my debut on the regular tour in 2023.”

Yang, who learned to play golf in the fifth grade, is currently taking lessons from coach Kim Dae-seop, who retired from the Korean Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Korean Tour after nine career victories.
