After retirement, he was once jailed in Paraguay for using a fake passport, but was released after six months. Last year, there was speculation that he would return to active football at the age of 42, but it was never confirmed. His son, João Menzies, recently made headlines when he joined the Barcelona youth team where Ronaldinho played.
