San Diego Padres manager Bob Melvin has revealed plans to use Fernando Tatis, who is imminently returning.

In an interview ahead of the home game against the Milwaukee Brewers held at Petco Park in San Diego, California on the 15th (hereafter Korean time), Melvin said, “When I return, I will appoint you as a leadoff.”

San Diego has been entrusting Trent Grisham (9 games) and Zander Bogaerts (5 games) as the No. 1 hitter so far this season. If Tatis comes in as the first hitter, Grisham is likely to go down to the bottom batting order and Bogatz to the center batting line.온라인카지노

Melvin said that Tatis is “the type of player who will lighten the burden on other players” and expressed the expectation that he will “light up” the entire lineup.

In particular, he also explained the background of his decision to hire him as the number one hitter. He continued, “I tried him as the number one hitter one day in spring camp, and I can’t explain it, but I felt something different.”

Hitting number 1 is the position most familiar to Tatis. He played the most 116 games as a first batter, recording a career batting average of 0.317, an on-base percentage of 0.382, and a long run of 0.627. He posted 38 home runs and 87 RBIs.

Tatis, who was suspended for 80 games in August last year for taking a banned substance called Clestebol, is scheduled to return in an away game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on the 21st.

He is currently in rehab at Triple-A El Paso. He went 11-for-23 with 4 homers, 11 RBI, 6 walks and 2 strikeouts in 6 games, showing no match at Triple-A.

Melvin said Tatis will be joining the team ahead of a home game against the Atlanta Braves on the 18th.

After spending time with the teammates during the three-game series with Atlanta, they plan to travel to Arizona together.

It is yet to be determined how he will spend the three-game period. He’s not going to rot the bat. He will be playing simulation games at Petco Park or additional rehab at Singles A team Lake El Signor near San Diego.
