Bae Bae-hwan of the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball (MLB) did his part to keep his team’s winning streak alive. The Pittsburgh Pirates hosted the St. Louis Cardinals at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 5.

Bae started in center field and batted sixth, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two stolen bases. His season batting average improved to 2-7-4 (43 RBI in 157 at-bats) from 2-6-8.

The bats came alive from the first at-bat. Bae came to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the first inning and swung at a four-pitch fastball from St. Louis starter Miles Mychalus.

The pitch was hit up the middle and both runners came home, giving Bae his second RBI of the game. It was his 14th RBI of the season.

After stealing first base, Bae tried to steal second on Rodolfo Castro’s single. However, Castro grounded out to first base to end the inning.

In his second at-bat of the inning, Bae hit a grounder to second base to advance to third, and in the bottom of the fifth, with runners on first and second, Bae came up to bat again and drew a full count against Mykolas.

He recorded his first multi-hit game (two or more hits in a game) and stole second again from Castro, his 16th and 17th stolen bases of the season. In his final at-bat in the bottom of the eighth inning, Bae touched the ball on the first pitch but was stranded on a grounder to shortstop.

Bae scored the game-winning run on the play. Pittsburgh held on for a 2-1 victory over St. Louis in the bottom of the first inning to extend its winning streak to five games.메이저사이트

Pittsburgh starter veteran Rich Hill earned the win, allowing one run on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts in 6.2 innings to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Bae’s most recent multi-hit game came on April 1 against the San Francisco Giants. His two stolen bases in a game was the first in 32 days since May 4 against the Tampa Bay Rays.
