Wingedfoot Golf Club, a famous American golf course with a 100-year history, has been selected as the host of the 2028 US Open.
John Burdenheimer, Chief Executive of the United States Golf Association (USGA), said on the 12th (Korean time), “The USGA has selected the Wingedfoot Golf Club West course in Mamaroneck, New York, as the venue for the 2028 US Open Championship.” The course is a historic place where many of the legendary champions have won. Wingedfoot Golf Club in Westchester County, New York, USA operates two 18-hole courses, West and East. Opened in 1923, this historic golf course celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
Since Wingedfoot first hosted the US Open in 1930, it has hosted a total of seven tournaments until 2020. The U.S. Amateur Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open have been held twice each, and the PGA Championship was held in 1997.
This year’s US Open will be held at The Los Angeles Country Club in Los Angeles, California for four days from June 15th.
